LOCATION & TRAVEL DETAILS
Mayfield bed and breakfast is pleasantly situated just outside the town of Fort William, in a quiet residential area close to Nevis Range and within walking distance of the start point for the North face of Ben Nevis. The town centre is 3 miles (5 km) away by road or via the safe, surfaced cycle track.

There are bus services to and from Nevis Range, Fort William and Inverness (click bus no 41 / 19 / 919).  Taxi services operate 24 hours from Fort William where the transport centre links with bus and train services throughout the West Highlands.  The Fort William to Nevis Range cycle path passes the Happy Valley turning near the wooden bridge at Torlundy.

Travelling North by car from Fort William on the A82 for approx 3 miles, the turning to Happy Valley is on the left just after passing Inverlochy Castle.  Travelling South on the A82, after reaching the small group of buildings at Torlundy, there’s a dip in the road and a large wooden bridge on the adjacent cycle path, the turn to Happy Valley is on the right immediately after the bridge. From the A830 Road to the Isles, turn left at the  roundabout where the A830 meets the A82 and follow the Northbound directions

If you’re arriving by bus, train or ferry or want a night out in the town centre without your car, the taxis in Fort William are more than happy to come out to our B&B here at Torlundy, the fare is about £8.00.

The nearest airport is Inverness (2 hours) whilst Glasgow International is about 3 hours away by car although journeys will take longer at busy times or by public transport.
